Luna’s POV (Flashback)

“We will be having a few guests, get everything in order” Aunt Portia’s velvet voice was back, and gone was the sluggishness that she followed in her drunk state.

By getting everything in order, she simply meant making sure everyone had the right place at dinner for a change, taking care of the cooking and cleaning up after, and putting everything in its correct places on their plate until the meal time rolled around.

I worked tirelessly in the kitchen and took care to make sure every piece of food looked perfect.

Mac came into the kitchen and they both monitored me, He and Aunt Portia.

I was uncomfortable under their gaze, so I tried to ignore it by focusing my attention on putting together a perfect bowl of rice for Aunt Portia. My hands were trembling, and my fingers slipped slightly causing the new plate I had picked to break apart into pieces instead of being properly folded.

I felt tears forming in my eyes, but no one seemed to notice.
