Olivier's Point of ViewViktor was ranting again. He had just arrived back from town and told me he had seen Aláine at the Central Police Station. He was worried that Aláine had managed to take his photo but was still confident that they wouldn't find us out here in our cabin.We were living, if you could call it that, outside of town enough that it was considered remote but close enough that we had cellphone coverage and internet access. It was surrounded by forest, and we had managed to put some traps up, just in case. I made the others dig some deadfall pits and other sorts of deadly surprises for anyone coming around. The small wooden cabin was nothing more than a living area with an open kitchen and one bedroom. Viktor and I slept in the bedroom, while the other four slept in the living room. Kristof's Point of View Breakfast the following day was early and quiet. Although Noah, Michel and I were the only ones from our packhouse going on the mission, Aláine, Zara, Callie, Kieran, and Frederic joined us. Callie, Kieran and Frederic would stay behind with Aláine and Zara. I didn't think there would be any trouble here, but I wanted to make sure. I felt that the three remaining would be strong enough werewolves to handle any problem. As far as Michel's contacts had been able to ascertain, there weren't that many in Viktor's team. Only three had been seen, so maybe four or five at the most. Hopefully, everything would go smoothly, but best be prepared if something didn't go to plan. Viktor had shown himself to be quite tactical and cunning. I didn't want to underestimate him. There was far too much at stake if I did. It was still dark when we arrived at the parking site, ready to start the mission. There were twelve of us and we were divided up into three squads of four. N

Kristof's Point of ViewFinally, we reached the cabin. The morning sky was no longer dark, but it was still earlier than most werewolves woke. Everything was as Jacques had informed us. I could smell at least four separate werewolves, and there was the distinct odour of rogue, so at least we knew what, if not who, we were dealing with. The scent was definitely fresh as in within six hours, but that could be because they were inside sleeping. What I did detect was a powerful metallic tang of blood. Someone had been bleeding. A lot. There was still some smoke coming out of the chimney, but it didn't look as if it had been left to die. The van with the number plates Michel had been following was parked outside. Kristof was trusting us to keep Aláine safe. It was a quiet breakfast. None of us were really talking much, but we still felt we needed to be there.
