CHAPTER 61

My brain was struggling to process this information that was just dumped on me.

"I think I need to lie down" I pressed my hand against my forehead. Rome assessed me worriedly.

"Come, I'll take you back to the room"

"We'll talk later then," Grey said to Rome and he mumbled. He climbed into bed with me and pulled me against his chest.

"I can't believe this," I mumbled.

"Don't think about it"

"How could I not?"

"Once we return, I'll start finding out things. But I promise you that we would get to the bottom of this"

I nodded against his chest, believing his promise.

Agnia's words replayed in my head. His steady heartbeat lulled me to sleep.

When I woke up again, he was gone. I was alone in the vast room. I rolled out of my bed, ignoring the pounding headache in my head, and headed straight for the door. Ajax was guarding it.

"Where is Rome?"

"Alpha had something important to discuss with the Alpha of this pack so he stepped out and instructed me to keep watch” I nodded.
