“Ah, fuck.” I slammed my face against the pillow after breaking down like that in front of Yael. I was always the composed one between the two of us. Always the one in control, and now after learning of Hyacinth’s possible pregnancy, I’m nothing but a sad lump of mess.

A part of me wanted to tell him the truth. But why bother when he knows it already. Seeing how much he tries to make me happy, I know that he knows that I’m wallowing in self-pity.

Now Yael is cooking something for the two of us. And I can’t seem to help him prepare the food nor even try to help make the boat all of us will use to go back to the Northern Kingdom. I wanted to tell the others to stay. To not make an effort to go back to the Kingdom — that I’m not as strong as I used to be. I feel it in my bones. And it started when I mated with Yael. It’s as if his wolf is harnessing all of my strength, laying low to rest and probably becoming stronger than me.
