Chapter 31

Avery's pov

I was dragged back to the cell by one of the guards. My body was sore and my muscles felt like they were tearing apart. I couldn't even feel my hands anymore.

I had never done so much work before and I felt like I was breaking apart but I held in my tears, I won't cry, no matter what.

My days of crying were over, even if things didn't end up going as I planned, I would make sure to be strong.

I slumped on the floor of the cell and I laid down, not moving. I was trying to rest as much as possible, I don't want to be the reason we wouldn't be able to escape.

I closed my eyes to sleep and after a few seconds, I was gone. I dreamt of my freedom when I was finally going to escape this cell, this hatred and this mistreatment.

I was woken up by the sounds of the cell being unlocked. I opened my eyes, wondering how long I was asleep. My body was in even more pain as I tried to move but I could feel that I had recovered some of my energy.
