Lucien's POV

Six months later

I stood on the balcony, gazing out into the sky. I have been doing this a lot lately. It had been six months since Avery's welcome party and the announcement of coronation.

I've been uneasy since then. Would Avery still want to accept me as her mate after she forgives me if she already has such a large pack backing her? I couldn't leave my father's pack and she obviously couldn't leave hers also.

I was torn, I didn't know what to do and even Esme was at a loss of ideas. I had tried multiple times to get in touch with her since that night but I couldn't.

I had gone to the welcome party that night and except for when Avery had arrived, I hadn't gotten a chance to look at her again. Unfortunately for me, I just so happened to be seated fat away from her.

I could have just used my abilities but in a gathering like that, using my wolf abilities would be noticed by stronger alphas and it would be deemed rude. I didn't want to offend her parents.
