Dorian's POV…

It was already nighttime, and we were already seated across the center table having a meal.

Everyone was quite silent for a while until Ashen decided to speak up.

“Hey Uncle, did you guys catch any bait today?” he asked, his eyes brimming with anticipation.

At that moment, I felt horrible. Like, I can't believe we didn't even catch a single ant!

Why am I feeling so damn disappointed? Yeah, we came back just to help someone, yet I cannot help but feel so downright terrible. I knew from the start how they desperately needed food.

I even offered to help, but instead came back empty-handed.

“Will you stop talking and eat” his mother shut him up, quickly giving him a mean look? The little boy, who was oblivious to what had transpired earlier today, looked down in this disappointment.

His tiny red lips pouted in sadness. “Please don't scold him. He was just being inquisitive” Caddel defended him quickly and Ashen beamed happily again.
