A guttural sound that I was never sure could come out from my vocal cords escaped my lips. Someone was shaking me frantically and whoever this person was, he or she was bent on stripping me of the rest that I had managed to get not too long ago after the excruciatingly tiring tasks that Adrik signed over to me for the day.
I tried to move my feet but they proved uncooperative, like they were tied together and placed underneath some kind of rock. Yep, that was how tired I was. The hall bustled as I walked in. The tiny lane that led to the banquet room was filled with strange faces who I assumed were also men of power, smoking and talking loudly.
