Chapter Twelve: A Sacrifice to be Made

Liam and Wilona were by my side as we strode to the WitchWolf’s Apothecary. For some reason, I was afraid of what I would learn about my fate but determined at the same time. I needed answers to why an ordinary girl with no will to live suddenly gets tangled up in some fantasy bullshit that I cannot run away from—even though I so desperately wanted to.

As Liam nudged the door open for us to walk into, my senses were immediately greeted by the sweet scent of the earthy aroma of the room. As I looked around, my gaze was immediately captivated by an array of plant vases, each a diverse species.

They each hung on every corner of the wall.

A towering bookshelf lined the walls, filled with ancient books, providing an air of wisdom to the room. The huge room was of maximalist interior and exuded a medieval charm. At the far end of the room, a counter stood with a woman sitting behind it.
