Inside the red tent, Diego placed me in a wooden chair that is not far from the huge table of the alpha. Diego was motionless as he stood in front of his father, Alpha Droco, that is what Diego said to me in my mind a while ago. My eyes then drifted to his brother, Dario, just beside their father. They were both wearing black tunics and cloaks as if they are being ready for a war.

“I am asking you again,” Diego said. “I want to be the alpha of the pack, father.”

The alpha and Dario exchanged glances. Dario rolled his eyes and walked past Diego. While he was going towards outside the red tent, his upturned red eyes drifted in my direction. I saw the glares that he gave me, but I remained cold and stern.

If he’s gonna stay here in the habitat while Diego is going to be the alpha, I will bombard him with a lot of tasks.

I rolled my eyes at him and just put my attention on the alpha and Diego.

“Your mother…” he said, “told me before that she wants you to be the next alpha.
