Chapter Twelve

(Birds whistling)

Rose's POV:

Being in pain and confined indoors and not being able to see the sunsets. The warm beat of the sun on my body every morning.

Waves, cool breezes at the riverside where I am alone most times, sometimes with Magda. I miss all of them.

Exhausted every now and then,both physically and mentally. But this time it's difficult, the pain is beyond… I feel like every single person that stood by me before has abandoned me.

Now I'm here not sure how my life will eventually turn out. The cruel words my step mom poured on me kept rewinding back like a tape… my days of being an actual slave have begun I thought.

“Medical bills, she isn't responsible, meanwhile I'm the victim here, getting ready to be a drop out because consequentially my educational fees won't be covered by them anymore.”

I pleaded to let me finish up, I'm almost done with my education,in no time school reopens.

And other expenses can add up quickly creating additional stress and anxiety for me. I
