When I got home that night from the office, Brighton was standing by the door. I wasn’t worried, but it was also not normal. We really should stop using that word around here. There is not anything normal about this pack or what happens around here. He pulled out a large envelope and handed it to me. I looked at it, and I became nervous.

“When did it come?” I asked.

“It was delivered earlier this afternoon by a member of the council.” He tells me.

“I guess I should open it,” I say.

He gives me a nod and says he will gather everyone. Everybody knew what I was trying to do. We still have no idea who sent the paper trail on Darrius to the council. We all had our suspicion but now proof. I hadn’t heard anything from the council for a month or more. I honestly thought that they let him off and would do nothing.
