CHAPTER 25

ALISA’s POV

For years I wondered who my family was, how they looked like, what their names were and how they were doing. I would spend many nights on my knees, praying as I looked out the little window of my room, asking for the Lord to let me see my family.

But now that I am finally faced with my sister, I wish my prayers had not come true.

A dim recollection suddenly stirs within me, a memory of long ago…I remember a young girl happily braiding my hair as a child and how joyful I felt. There was so much love. Then I remember, I had called the girl by her name. I had called her Julianne.

At present, Julianne stands before me. Her eyes are dark and her words are cold, she does not look like the girl I remember.

“If you are not with me, then you are against me,” she says.

I close my eyes and my head falls to my chest.

“Julianne, please…”

My plea goes unheeded. Julianne tu
