Something was definitely wrong if Bronx sounded nervous. The guy could even the most stressful situation into a joke.

“Shit! I have to...”

“Go. Don’t worry about me. Just bring me a bottle of Brandy next time you come,” Mirja said, laughing a little.

“Seriously?” I questioned, with her shrugging her shoulders. “Fine! I promise I will be back with a bottle of brandy,” I said, ignoring Alexi, cussing me out for having to leave her.

“No cheap crap either!” She yelled as I slowly backed away, trying to memorize every part of her aside from the cuts and bruises.

I returned to the door to pick up the guard and caught another familiar scent. I was surprised. I almost missed it, and I knew exactly who it belonged to. I dragged the guard back to where we started. I didn’t think this would help, but hopefully, he would think nobody went into the basement. Just a drunk fool trying to fight.

When I returned to the bar, I saw why Bronx was a bit panicked. People were pushed off
