“A guest? I'm not expecting anyone,” l huffed, dumbfounded with bile building up to my throat.

I veered to the side to confirm with David if he had any idea who that might be.

"We told him so, young master. And your father gave instructions not to allow you out of your room or even the house premises,” The guard confided.

“So how am I supposed to see this guest you speak of?" I trailed off, sprawling back into the bed to return Leo's call.

“I will confirm who that is, get some rest,” David said, bowing slowly as he walked out. I slouch on the bed trying to pull the covers over Kai to keep him warm as l lay beside him quietly.

I flinched, orienteering fear as l heard a thud on the wall coupled with aggressive muttering.

"You can't go in here!"
