Chapter Six

Sarah wakes up with a jolt, gasping for breath as she sits up in bed.

Something is wrong.

The room around her is unfamiliar, and for a moment, she is disoriented.

Then she remembers - she isn't in her room back at home, this is the palace.

That's not it though, why do I feel weird?

She lifts her palms and doesn't notice anything strange, she lifts her gown to look at her feet but they're still the way they were last night.

She can feel heat in her body though, unfamiliar heat. She makes her way to the bathroom.

She was too tired to check out the bathroom last night but she rectifies that immediately. The bathroom is a dream - even better than.

As soon as she enters the bathroom, the opulence and extravagance of the room overwhelms her senses.

The marble flooring gleams under the soft golden lighting, and the walls are covered in shimmering mosaics that seem to change color as she moves.

In the center of the room is a massive sunken bathtub, carved from a single piece of polished onyx, surrounded by a tiered platform of the same material.

Along the walls, she sees shelves made of dark walnut wood, each one filled with exquisite glass jars and bottles that hold bath salts, lotions, and oils from different unfamiliar brands.

Above the tub, a crystal chandelier sparkles and casts a mesmerizing display of light on the water. And on the far wall, a pair of massive glass doors lead out to a private terrace, overlooking the city skyline.

She walks around, admiring the intricate details of the room. The towels are made of the softest cotton, and the robe hanging on the hook is of the finest silk.

The sink is made of what seems to be solid gold, and the faucet is encrusted with diamonds. She can't help but marvel at the sheer luxury of it all.

Even the toothbrush is nothing like she had ever seen. There's an inscription on it that simply reads Sarah that makes pink rush to her cheeks.

These people!

When did they have the time to do this?

She loosens her braid so as to put her hair in a bun which she always does before brushing her teeth.

She doesn't understand why she can sleep in braids but can't brush with it.

A tendril falls across her eyes and she can't help the scream that follows. She looks into the mirror and let's out another scream.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! What is this?" she asks herself as she begins to shiver.

"What the fuck happened to me?" she asks no one.

Her hair color and length has changed completely. Her hair was now a glittering silver and definitely waist long.

Just then, she notices her eyes. They've also changed, they are now streaked with gold like Jason's.

She shakes her head in disbelief, trying to make sense of what is happening to her.

She ruffles her hair and that's when it happens. One of her hands began to emit flames, and she screams in terror.

She has never experienced anything like this before. Is she dreaming? Is this some sort of nightmare?

She runs out of the bathroom just as Jason comes into her room. He stops immediately he sees her.

"What.the.FUCK?"

"I SHOULD BE THE ONE SAYING THAT!"

"What's happening to me?" she asks as she opens and folds her palm but the fire wouldn't stop.

Surprisingly she doesn't feel any heat.

"Calm down, there has to be an explanation for this," he says trying to soothe her but his trembling voice betrays him.

"Calm down? CALM DOWN? How about you try being calm when you have fire blazing through your palms?" she asks.

He goes to her bedside and presses a button on the table, "Luke, get your ass here, NOW!"

Lukas is there in five seconds. Somewhere in her mind she asks herself how they move so freaking fast.

"Holy shit!" he exclaims.

"Holy shit is right. You got an explanation for this?" Jason asks him.

"You're the fucking king man, if any of us has an explanation it should be you."

"You both had better figure this out before I go craaaazy!" she screams.

"Get Katy," Jason says to Lukas and just like that, he's gone.

"Calm down baby girl, I'm sure there is an answer to this."

"I don't need an answer, I need a solution," she says as she paces around.

She pulls her hair in frustration and on seeing the new color flings out her arm in frustration, a flame bursts out of her palm straight to the drape of the window causing it to catch fire and causing them to scream.

Immediately, it dies down like someone splashed water on it and she turns round to see Lukas with a tall, dark skinned and strikingly beautiful woman with red hair.

The woman flicks her fingers and the fire on Sarah's palm goes out.

"You would want to stay calm so that doesn't repeat itself," she says. Even her voice is captivating.

She places her hand on her chest and looks at Jason, "Your Grace," she greets and he nods.

"What just happened? She wasn't like this last night," he says to the woman who has to be Katrina.

"In what sense, your grace?"

"Her hair colour changed and that thing with the fire has never happened before now."

Katrina looks at Sarah and then oddly, she goes on knee with both arms crossed on her chest.

"My Supreme" she says.

"Is…is she…" Sarah stammers as she looks between the guys "...is she doing that for me?" she asks them.

"Yes, she is," Lukas says and seeing the obvious confusion on her face tells her, "you need to tell her to rise."

"Oh my goodness," she says as she helps the woman up, "please rise."

"It's an honor to meet you. I can't believe it. I heard it but didn't believe it and now I'm seeing it but, I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT!"

"Maybe you want to explain so I can understand you," Jason says in his my-word-is-law voice.

"She's the Witch Supreme. That's why her hair changed. I heard she just came from the firstworld, her powers were dormant there but now that she's here, where she belongs, her body can feel the power here and that's what caused the transformation."

Seeing that they still don't understand her, she goes on. "She's the Witch Supreme," she says to the guys like they should understand her and when they keep staring at her she says like she's explaining to kids, "what does the Witch Supreme look like? How do we know who the Witch Supreme is?"

"Her hair colour, and since our hair is immune to dye no other person has her hair colour," Lukas says.

With her hands on her waist she asks, "and what color is it?"

"Oh!" they both say together.

"Yeah, she should have silver colored hair which explains the transformation."

"So if I get you right, my hair is this color because I'm the Witch Supreme?" Sarah asks and they all nod.

"What are you?" she asks Katrina.

"A witch as well, Supreme."

"And since I'm the Witch Supreme I'm the most powerful right?" she asks again and they nod again.

Sarah goes silent and they all watch her, Jason and Lukas seem nervous because they don't know what her reaction to that would be.

She makes her way to the nightstand and sits in front of it as she stares into the mirror on it.

She turns and asks them, "do you guys hair color change with age?".

"No," Lukas says.

Suddenly, she smiles, "I love the color, I've always loved the gray color of old people's hair in my world. Now I get to be the only one who has this color in this world, righteous!" she says as she turns back to start finger combing her hair.

"That went better than I expected," she hears Jason whisper to Lukas.

"Way better!" he replies also whispering.

"I can hear you guys you know," she tells them.

"Shit!" Lukas says as Jason bursts into laughter.

"Really? You can hear their whispers? Oh my glory! She really is the Witch Supreme," Katrina says which makes Lukas and Sarah joins in the laughter.
