I left the execution ground, I couldn't shake the feeling of numbness that had settled over me. It was an incredibly difficult task to execute the captured mercenaries, but it had to be done. They were a danger to society, and justice needed to be served.

But as I walked away from that scene, my thoughts turned to my best friend and beta, Jason. My in-laws had given me words of advice, urging me to confine him to house arrest. They believed he was dangerous and a ticking time bomb, even though he had not been legally caught or found guilty of anything.

I couldn't help but feel torn about what to do. On one hand, I had known Jason for years, and he had always been there for me. But on the other hand, I couldn't ignore the concerns that my in-laws had raised.

I continued to walk, lost in thought, I realized that this decision would be one of the hardest I had ever made. It was a decision that would not only affect Jason but also those around him, including myself.
