Chloe POV

The Beta smacked Billy on the back of his head. “Don’t say it like that, you asshole. The bounty says alive and unharmed.”

“Ow! So?! It’s on a hit list, isn’t it?”

“Mr. Smith did?” I asked in disbelief. The man gave me the creeps last time we spoke, but this was insane. I didn’t think he would do something extreme like putting a bounty on me, even though he did make that comment about kidnapping me.

“You know who he is talking about?” Mick asked, concern laced in his voice.

I nodded. “He was a client of Darren’s.” I scoffed, thinking about his offer the last time I spoke to him. “An arrogant asshole but the richest one. Stupid rich. He basically tried to buy me the last time I saw him. Wanted me as his own personal sex slave or some shit like that.”

“That was right before you came over,” I told Mick. “Darren told him I wouldn’t be doing any more streams for him.”
