After a long and busy day, I decided to have a nice, relaxing bath, needing to wash the day away. I soaked in the large tub until my fingers started to prune, warning me to get out before I looked like a shrivelled-up piece of fruit. I stepped out of the tub, dried myself and threw on my white nightgown.

I entered the bedroom and saw that Cain was back; he was sitting in one of the chairs by the fire. He seemed lost and mesmerized by the flames as he stared into them.

I walked over to him. “Everything ok?” I asked, looking down at him. Cain remained still for a moment, and his gaze slowly rose to meet mine. He trapped me in my spot with his eyes, staring at me with lust and a look of longing.

Cain wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. “It is now.” He said quietly, and my wolf purred at the close contact between us. She seemed to be warming up to Cain and loved it when he paid attention to us.
