Mikayla cleared her throat and bit down on her inner cheek. I could tell that she wanted to look at Stephanie but they both knew that I would want the full story.

”Can I continue on your makeup?” She asked me and held up the makeup brush.

”Only if you promise to tell me the truth at the same time,” I said and crossed my arms over my chest.

Mikayla went back to doing my makeup and I could see her thoughts spinning inside her head, her jaw was clenched and it looked like she was trying to figure out the words.

”We were friends before they took you away,” Stephanie said when Mikayla didn’t.

”We used to play every day. I remember it like it was yesterday,” she said with a giggle.
