Thorny Heart Pack

Shane was led in by two pack warriors who saw him outside the pack.

He was brought in to his father and the warriors left, leaving the father and son to sort themselves out.

"Shane, where have you been?" Shaw asked, remaining seated.

Shane looked up at his father and avoided looking into his eyes, "I've been carrying out the task you gave me. But I had a memory lapse when the pack attacked Burning Heart Pack."

The Alpha didn't believe him but he had no energy to start enquiring what his son was up to.

"Thankfully, your memory lapse wasn't the end of you. You saved yourself." He said with a sigh. "On your way out, did you happen to see any survivors?"

Shane didn't react immediately aware that his father was watching his every move keenly.

"I didn't. All I could see were dead bodies. And since the pack was closer to the forest, I didn't bother looking around for any survivors, I just headed into the forest." He replied.
