Meeting the Kids!

Rita’s POV

He turned stern for the first time since we met.

“It was so quick. I mean we didn’t wait at all,” I said thinking, maybe over thinking.

“Do you regret it? Being marked by me?” There was no tenderness in his voice, no affection.

“No I don’t regret it,” I touched his hand. He took a deep breath at my touch. “Garret please look at me.”

He took another bite, “these potatoes are excellent, thank you.”

He still didn’t look at me.

He finished and I took his plate. He walked out of the kitchen while I cleaned up.

I finished the dishes as he came back in wearing a nice pair of jeans and a polo. His black hair was combed and he was looking sharp.

“You look nice, should I change?” I said looking at my tee and leggings.

“That’s up to you.” He still had a coldness to him. I clearly upset him by covering my mark in front of Mary and Jake.

The grammar issues bother me, but definitely not a deal-breaker. Good story. I love how well I know the characters already and how different they all are
