When my eyes opened for the first time, my vision was blurry. I closed my eyes and rubbed it and when I opened it again, I was looking up at a pale blue ceiling. Like the type, you’ll find in a fancy house. To my left, I saw beautiful drapes and a large window. Was this how the afterlife was? I expected it to be full of nature. Not this....... I sat up slowly, I could no longer feel any pain in my head which was great. I mean it'll suck to have a killer headache in the afterlife. I took in my surroundings carefully. The room was more grand than I thought. A lot of gold would have been used to furnish it. And the bed, it was so damn fluffy and comfortable with dozens of pillows surrounding me.It didn’t feel like I was on Earth at all. I stretched my arms above my head and grinned happily. What a reward after my suffering. The door opened and instead of an angel or ethereal being, I saw the frightening alpha with his signature evil look.I screamed loudly in fright at his presence.
I continued to beg and cry as he dragged me outside but he ignored me. He had already made up his mind about what he planned to do to me.“Please” I kept on wailing but he continued to ignore me. There were a group of maids outside. I recognized them by the uniforms, standing in groups and watching my humiliation. There were few others there and they were talking loudly. Alpha Tiegen pushed me to the floor and I fell on my arm, fracturing my bones. He let out a thunderous growl and everywhere went silent instantly. Even my sobs died down to a sniffle because I didn’t want to upset him. He wanted silence. "Tie her up" he commanded. And a burly man moved immediately. He grabbed me and dragged me towards the pool that had two tall poles on the side with another one, laying over them. As we drew closer, I realized it wasn't a normal pool. It was deep, almost like a well and you couldn’t see the bottom. I instantly started panicking remembering what had just happened to me before I passe
I was a mess after waking up, my head couldn't stop replaying the torture. They were sick. All of them. They tried to kill me, lied against me, and tortured me as punishment. I couldn't face it anymore. I had to leave this place. I could still hear voices outside so I remained at my spot. My senses were on alert. My body knew how important it was not to fall asleep. The voices outside finally died down and I stood up from the hard floor. I walked quietly down the hallway and climbed out of the basement. The creaky stairs were extra loud today. No guard was in sight when I reached the top but when I passed by the kitchen, I could still hear voices. I didn’t expect anyone to still be in the kitchen by this time. I heard sounds coming towards me and I hid behind a wall. At the same time, the kitchen door opened and I heard footsteps. It was Nerida coming out with another lady. They seemed to be arguing about something and paid no attention to their surroundings because if they had look
Once I saw the blue ceiling, I knew I was back at Alpha Teigen’s pack. I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. If the circumstances were different, I would ask about the type of painkillers they gave me. It was super effective. I rolled out of bed and onto my feet. My vision was blurry for a second and I missed a step. I couldn't stop my fall and I was waiting for the impact but it never came. Strong arms caught me. "Careful there" it was an unfamiliar voice. I moved away instantly. A man was smiling at me. He had light brown hair and green eyes. He was so beautiful and looked kind. I couldn't be deceived by that though. I'm sure he was a monster like the others who were here. "Let me help you back to bed" he tried to touch me but I moved away. "I know you're confused....and scared, but I just want to help you" he approached me slowly. I didn't fight him this time and he led me back to bed. He was still holding me when the door opened. I didn't have to look up to know who it was. His p
The guard opening the door woke me up. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening they were hauling me out of the cell. The girl from the next cell screamed at them banging her palms on the bars. "Shut her up" one of the guards snapped and one of the guards let me go. I stopped hearing her voice before I left the dungeon. Maybe they knocked her out. I was dragged through a familiar hallway and to the alpha's office. They forced me into a chair and bound my legs and hands. Just as they were about to gag me, the door opened. "I'll take it from here" I didn't recognize the voice but when the stranger came into view, I instantly recognized him. It was the older man who tried to stop the water torture. He smiled softly at me. "Your stay here has been troubling. The pack house hasn't been this lively in years. I'm Alfio" He tried to touch me but I flinched. "I am a healer or what you people will call a doctor. Do you have any injuries?" He poked at me. "No. I-I'm fine"“I wish
I couldn't fall asleep. My mind was stuck on Imogen. Each time I closed my eyes, her death replayed in my head. I even tried to convince myself that it wasn’t real but it wasn’t working. I saw it. I saw the wolf rip into her neck and end her life. All because of me. I shouldn't be blaming myself for what happened but his words stuck. It was my fault. He would never have gone after her if I never tried to escape. I shouldn’t have even tried it but I never thought he would go that far. I had to protect my other loved ones. But I couldn't take his words seriously that he wouldn't try to hurt my mother or anyone else. He was unpredictable. What if he changed his mind? I needed to get my mother far away. Where he couldn't find her. But that means I had to escape. I was scared of attempting another one but there was no other way to get my mother away if I didn’t leave here. She was unsafe as long as he knew where she was. This time, I had to get back to the human town. I would need Tynin
I had not been successful in my attempt to get close to Tynin. There was always something stopping us from seeing each other. The few times I did, he was with alpha Teigen and we couldn't speak to each other. Other times, he was in places that I couldn't access. The situation was frustrating but I couldn't stop. He was my biggest chance to get out of here. I rounded up my work for today and walked towards the stairs. I was halfway down the stairs when I heard someone coming. "Oh shit!" I muttered. So far, I had been really careful not to get caught. "Arcelia?" I stopped at the familiar voice. It was Tynin. "Hey...Why are you running away?""No. I thought it was someone else. Palesa told me to make sure I'm not seen on the stairs when a higher-up is coming""I don't mind that""I didn't know it was you. Others aren't nice like you and I didn't want to get into any kind of trouble for being careless""Understandable....Are you done with your duties for today?""Yes. I just need to
ALPHA TEIGEN’s POVI stared blankly at the work sitting on my desk. I was feeling different emotions at the same time. None of which I should be feeling at all. The only one I welcomed was anger.Anger at myself, anger at everything, anger at the damn human that found a way to overtake my thoughts. I wasn’t supposed to be feeling any kind of way towards her. I should have killed her on the spot after her arrival for murdering my sister but instead, I kept her around.“We need to find Miyanda’s body,” my wolf said to me. Yes! That was the reason we kept her alive.“But you’re taking things too far” his words soured my mood instantly. He was trying to make me feel regret for everything I had done to the human. It was slightly working but I knew how to fight against it. I had no reason to feel regret. She didn’t feel any regret when she conspired to murder my sister and start sending her body parts bit by bit to me.My door flew open and I growled angrily.“Alpha” Bladgen bowed his head.
