“By the way,” John started, which made Mariko look at him. “Where did you get your wound? By the looks of it, I think your wound is from a sharp object... A knife, perhaps?” He asked. He narrowed his eyes at her with his brows raised, as if he was accusing her.

Mariko was astounded that she couldn’t say anything. How can Mariko explain to them that she got her wounds after saving the life of a child who was being kidnapped?
