When Hazkiel opened his eyes, he was already in his room.

Hazkiel looked around in confusion. What happened? How did he get here? Is he dead?

“Servant said Lanaya has given you The Endowment, so you can be safe.” Purity’s voice made Hazkiel turn around. He found his sister sitting in a chair beside the bed.

“Endowment?” Hazkiel blinked. He needed time to remember and digest what had happened to him.

“Yes. Servant said a Draconian bite would infect you, but since you’re still alive, the infection would only make your body rot and die. So Lanaya did something to heal you.”

Silence for a moment. Hazkiel knew Purity had more to say to him, so he waited.

“But what Lanaya does has its risks,” Purity muttered. Hazkiel couldn’t read her expression, but she said it like a bad thing.

“What’s that?” asked Hazkiel, because Purity didn’t speak.
