Chapter Eleven

Noah's Pov

I hit my fist on the table, causing Chloe to flinch. I was frustrated out of my mind. The contract we were to sign with a neighbouring company had too many hidden traps in it, I've been spending all day trying to turn it to our favour.

To add to it, my mother had been disturbing me to sned her my engagement pictures that we haven't taken yet. It wasn't exactly possible to do when my fiancé was upset and was avoiding me.

I exhaled, running my hand through my hair. Maybe I went too far with what I said. But the sight of the man making her smile, and her laugh when he said that lame joke, it made my blood boil.

Who did he think he was, making her laugh like that? It took restraint not to punch his face in that diner. She never laughed that way because of me.

I happened to be in the neighbourhood when Chris, the driver reported to me what was happening at that moment. I drove there with an urgency that feared even me. It felt like a knife to my gut.
