The Chief was the chief of the entire race and naturally there was a reason for it. Aside from being the tallest, he was also the strongest and most experienced. Perhaps, one would be able to say that in his case, age equalled strength. His strength was on par with the other old Anitos that had the qualifications to go to the Skyworld. However, him still being on earth didn't mean that he did not have that very qualification. In reality, he was one of those granted permission to stay to guide his race. A few millennia later, he was still on the second layer.
Given his insight and long years of existence, how could he not be aware that right now, a messenger of the Goddess of the Sun was watching from a distance?
"The forest fairy race has enough graces from most nature high gods, except the Goddess of the Sun. As such, it's a wonder why Her Highness Hanan would suddenly take an interest in our barely illuminated realm."
While beautiful and with an unmatche
"Kulas of the Forest Fairy Race greets the representative of the Sun."With his head slightly lowered, the green-skilled old Anito said this.Ley who was busy gathering all faith and divine energy that he could to help alleviate his wound's situation was startled.'Who?'The Chief who cared not for the human Anito's reaction once again spoke, raising his head. "How are you doing Sir? I wish eternal might and life for the esteemed Goddess of the Sun."Ley saw that the other was facing his direction so he promptly turned around. When he did so, he was in the middle of wondering how the hell the newcomer came behind him without him noticing. Were his injuries that potent in dulling his senses? Or was the disparity of strength between them that vast? When he saw where the old forest fairy was looking, he was dumbfounded for finding nobody there.'Hmm?''No one? Or just unseen?'Yet a couple of
...It was a while later that the Tree Deity finally went to narrate what happened in the realm of the Anito of the Blood. Fernando listened attentively as this was what he had actually come here for."I attended the gathering even though I don’t know what’s store there for me and I’m sure you know that it was because if I didn't, something bad would happen to me. I have talked with some other participants there and learned that every century, the Anito of
...“If we were to think of a more ample description, they are like mercenaries. Or strays,” said Baram. The description was for the Gift Hunters that menaced other deities for their pool of divine energy and their very own gift, clarifying what connection they had with the Anito of the Blood. ‘Strays, like cats or dogs that belonged nowhere, not in the human society as pets, or the wild.’
When Fernando said that, a gust of wind blew, creating a whoosh sound that did little to calm his racing heart and mind. There was indeed somebody behind him just a dozen meters away, an unwelcomed instance of a guess turning out correct. It was a heavily bearded man, with long hair and bulky body, almost resembling a viking in legends, except the 'viking' was wearing a slightly modern set of clothing instead of exotic-looking clothes. Well, actually, he was not sure what a Viking really looked like and he was merely referencing the ones he saw on Ley's screen. Upon seeing the unwanted tail, Fernando's face remained neutral, as if he cared or expected just as much, which was a fact, but of course, what he felt deep inside was a different matter altogether. There was no way Fernando would feel good upon confirming that he was being followed, or rather, targeted.'A Gift Hunter, I supposed?' The term Baram used to refer to those who go after their own
Time passed and Ley who was having a conversation, or rather, observing a conversation between two higher-tiered deities finally managed to leave the domains of the forest fairies. Of course, before he did so, he thickened his face and confirmed from the Chief the intention of the forest fairy race. Thankfully, the other entertained his questioned, largely thanks to the presence of the angel. Finally, he had verified that Kulas, the old forest fairy, had no malicious intention towards him. The other even looked at him with puzzlement as if he didn't understand how going after a weak anito would be beneficial to him. The entire race as well, while famed for having overboard and proud personalities, were not naïve enough to get pulled into a stupid scheme by the Anito of the Blood.'So everything was just a personal move by the princess?' Ley was baffled.'What for then?'Because the woman was the second in command of the race, Kulas
For Ley, there was nothing more frustrating than knowing he had been used and purposely kept in her turf, yet still had no choice but to be stuck in a dilemma called 'owing a favor'. He had just really been saved so many times by the Goddess. The power of debt was truly insane. And to be fair, he was not one without a conscience since towards people he owed something. Towards the Goddess of the Sun and the witch Dehlia, he was one to never forget that he should offer something in return to reciprocate their good will. One had to show gratitude for the help that they received, especially if this concerned survivability. This, he always knew and thus, he planned to return the favor in the near future and remember it for life.Still, that was that. For him, there was another problem. And that was how the situation conflicted with his personality.Ley had always been quite the skeptical person. If the other party was somebody he did not fully know or trust, it
"Since this helper can cancel your divination, he should be on par or stronger on you, no? Have you reported this to the Court?"A shake of the head came from the Goddess of Stars. "Precisely because of that, I refrained from speaking this information to anybody else."The Goddess of the Moon sported out an annoyed expression before she stood up and began to walk towards the other side of her palace. Tala knew the place like the back of her hand and thus she was aware that was where Mayari stationed her army.Enough had been said between them. With just a few lines exchanged, both of them knew that the enemy was strong, at least, influential enough to rally a powerful seer deity to his side. However, the actually concerning matter was entirely something else.Tala, underneath her white veil, pursed her lips and looked up at the only star that could be glimpsed at from her location. In the Skyworld, time flowed differen
As a butler, Sam' service to House Hevel was extremely short and not worthy of a mention. Not even a year. However, since birth, he had been an extremely devout of the Three Goddesses, patrons of Island Ophir. Born to a fairly big clan in the village, one that had a history of producing elders and chiefs, he was one of the lucky ones given the qualifications to enter the palace at the summit of the mountain. But it took him several years to be promoted from a mere servant boy to an actual authority amongst servants, which he did through wits and perseverance, and he was very proud of what he had achieved. His clan's rule, or more like, motto was this, 'Always, for the Three Celestial Goddesses'.No matter how empty and cheerless the palace was, it would always be his joy to tend to it as a form of obeisance to the beloved Goddesses. What were his thoughts when he was suddenly assigned to serve three Anitos that had seemingly popped out of nowhere?W
