AARON’s POV

Leaving the white confines of the hospital room was a welcome relief. The cast on my leg felt like a cumbersome weight, and the sooner I could get rid of it, the better. With crutches in hand, I hobbled my way out, eager to get back home where I could properly relax and recuperate.

Bella was by my side the whole time.

As we arrived home, I could sense an unusual tension in the air. My mother appeared flustered and agitated. She paced back and forth in the living room, her hands wringing in distress.

"Mom, what's wrong?" I asked, concern etched on my face.

She turned to me, her expression a mix of worry and exasperation. "Aaron, you have no idea how worried I've been. This accident… it's just too much. Are you sure Bella didn't have anything to do with it?"

I sighed, understanding where her concern was coming from.

"Mom, you need to calm down," I said gently. "Bella had nothing to do with the accident. It was just that—an accident."
