25. A mistake

Our baby girl had grown so much these past weeks, she was with us. A couple of days ago we found out she was teething and she said her first words. Now she was crawling around the house very successfully. First, she had trouble with it and after one foot she would stop. Now she could cross the living room and still not be tired.

I had taken the day off as James had to pay a visit to his late father's company. He still owned shares of the company so once a year he had to join a meeting with all the businessmen who owned shares of the company. I didn't mind because I had now a whole day alone with my daughter.

She was sitting in the middle of the living room and I was trying to get her to crawl over to me. "Come here Alice, come to papa," I coaxed her. She looked at me with her big eyes and said, "Dada, dada." I smiled, it always gave me butterflies in my stomach when she said that. "Yes papa, come to papa."
