Chapter 34: it’s all over

Jordan couldn’t help but flinch when Derrick turned with a clenched jaw and punched the wall hard. The wall paper along with the wallpaper cracked under his fist and it left Jordan reeling when he stared at him.

“She shouldn’t have told you.”

“You shouldn’t be blaming yourself.”

“It’s my fault!” he shouted turning grief ridden eyes towards him.

Jordan could see the pain there, the raw emotion he hid well from him, and he couldn’t help but reach out for him. He couldn’t deny it hurt when he moved away.

“Did you force the drugs and alcohol down her neck? Did you force her into it? No, I don’t think you did. It was an accident, Derrick, an overdose –” Jordan argued and couldn’t hold back the grunt of pain when his back hit the wall when Derrick slammed him against it.

“You have no idea!”

“I do, Demi told me!”

“No, you don’t, Jordan, you weren’t there! You have from Demi’s point of view and she was just a kid at the time,”
