“What are you doing here?”

I turned to face my brother, her eyes wide with confusion and disbelief. Whilst, Liam just stared back at me, his face impassive. Jordan stood next to him, his arms crossed, and his jaw set.

The principal watched the two of them, his brow furrowed. Suddenly, Jordan turned and stormed out of the office, the door slamming behind him.

My head was shaking with anger as I stared at my brother, my eyes flashing with accusation.

"You decided to stay behind and cause trouble at my school?" I demanded, my hands balling into fists at my sides.

He just looked at me, his expression unreadable, his mouth a thin, hard line. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash, slapping it down on the principal's desk.

"Take this, chase that guy out of this school, and we'll call it even."

The principal's eyes shifted from Liam to Nora, a frown creasing his brow.

"I can't accept this." he said, standing his ground.
