By the time Samantha woke up, Sia was already awake and had warmed up the takeaway they had bought the previous day.“You wake up so early” Samantha grumbled as she walked into the kitchen.“You slept for about 12 hours” Sia shot back and Samantha snorted jumping on the tab to seat down.“How was your night?” Samantha asked, yawning.“I slept quite well” Sia replied, serving the both of them food into the plates and then dropping them on the dining table. Samantha threw a glance at Sia at her reply, she had woken up twice in the midnight and walked around the house, checked the rooms but Sia was nowhere to be found. Her phone was missing too. She nodded her head choosing to eat her food than poke nose into her business or where she had been throughout the night.__________________________Caleb ran his hands through his hair while trying to make sense of the decision the boy in front of him had taken. “Nate, nobody wakes up and decides to change classes and you aren’t moving to Arts
Sia chuckled by the time Samantha finished talking. She relaxed into her seat ignoring the looks everyone else in the lunch lounge was sending her. “He’s the reason why everyone wants to tear me apart or wants to be right now?” Sia asked while Samantha burst into laughter nodding her head. “You are stating the obvious,” she replied. “Why would he have changed classes? I mean there’s no logical reason for him to do so. From everything you’ve said, he seems like a very logical person so what’s going on?” Sia asked again. “Nobody knows. Kelvin said neither Caleb or Phil knew about it. They got to school this morning and Nate had transferred classes” Samantha replied. “You need to see the blog posts on the school forum, very funny stuffs” she continued laughing lightly. “Why is he sitting beside me too?” Sia asked and Samantha burst into laughter. “Well, I'm not Nate sweetie,” Samantha replied while Sia continued sipping her drink without another word. From the moment she had seen
It had been less than two days since Nate joined the Unrulys’ and became Sia’s seatmate and in those two days the duo had nothing more of an interaction than the first time Sia had found him seated beside her.Sia felt someone pinching her and like always almost every single time someone woke up unwilling, she opened her eyes with a frown and turned to Nate. There was no one else who dared to pinch her, she had already concluded by the time she woke up that no one else could have pinched her except Nate could have done so.She glared hatefully at him and Nate just dropped the textbook in front of her. Knowing what he meant, she rolled her eyes while sitting up on her seat. Her frown deepened upon realizing that everyone else had been staring at them waiting for her reaction. She chuckled rolling her eyes the second time, she wasn't really going to beat Nate up or anybody else.Nobody had annoyed her to the extent of her beating them up.She grabbed the textbook Nate had placed in front
Sia held the stainless warmer where she had packed food for her mom from the food they had cooked as she got down from the taxi. Adjusting the black hoodie over her head, she walked into the hospital premises and went straight for the elevator. She pressed the floor she was headed and leaned against the walls while rubbing her forehead. The elevator stopped at her mom’s floor and Sia stepped out, managing to drop her head in greetings at the Doctor and nurses who walked past her.She turned the doorknob of her mom’s room and stepped inside. The latter was eating peeled apples and instantly wore a smile upon seeing her. Sia quickened her steps and walked towards her mom relishing the sweet feeling that spread through her stomach when her mom hugged her. This was where she felt the safest.“You brought food oday?” her mom asked and Sia nodded her head anw playful raised her shoulders.“But this time around, your daughter made this food” Sia replied and her mom stared at her in surprise.
CHAPTER EIGHTEENWearing the new bandages around her arm had given Sia the space to think a bit. Her mom wanted to meet both Samantha and Nathaniel. The thought had driven her crazy. Why on earth would her mom want to meet them? Her mom was basically asking to show the duo what her life was like, something she had been trying to hide for the past one and half months. But she didn't tell her mom that, she nodded her head and assured the frail looking woman that she would ask Samantha if they had time which of course she knew they had.“It’s not a big game” someone's voice drifted into her ears and Sia turned to the woman who had spoken.“That’s why you didn’t tell me until an hour before the game” Sia replied, raising to her feet and grabbing the hair band on the table, stretching it to her.“Tie it up for me,” she muttered. The woman chuckled lightly before collecting the hair band from Sia and helping her tie her hair upwards.“How’s she?” She asked and Sia shrugged.“She’s quite fin
CHAPTER NINETEEN By the time Sia got back home, trickles of sweat had washed down her back soaking the lower part of her hoodie. She was pressed in the door code and opened the door and stepped into the house, much to her surprise, Samantha was sprawled on the chair in the seating room watching TV. She had heard the door lock being pressed in so she had turned to take a glance at who it was. A look of surprise flashed through her face and Sia remembered that she had gotten punched earlier at the ring. While thinking of lies to tell her, Samantha had already stood up and walked to the kitchen bringing back the First Aid box with her. “Come here” Smaantha muttered and Sia sighed softly before going ahead to sit on one of the dining table chairs. Just as she had taken care of her when she had arrived at school with a cut on her lip without asking questions; Samantha cleaned her up without asking anything except if it was hurting once or twice. “Why aren’t you asleep?” Sia asked, rubb
CHAPTER TWENTYSomehow a lot of the students who had seen Sia’s picture on Samantha’s story were shocked. The moment they walked into the school; Sia could feel numerous eyes on her. She had ended up wearing a sweatshirt on the turtle neck hoping that it would bring down whatever excitement Samantha was feeling but Samantha had further praised her and taken even more pictures.“Just take a look at how everyone is staring at you” Samantha gushed and Sia shook her head without a word. The moment she stepped into the class; Kelvin rushed to her with a smile spread across his lips.“When I saw Sam’s story; I honestly thought today was your birthday or something” Kelvin started and half of the class burst into laughter.“Don’t tell me you have more of these clothes hiding away in your closet?” Kelvin asked and Sia raised an eyebrow.“Girl, no way. We won’t be doing that from today okay” Kelvin said, bringing out his phone and standing in front of the two girls and raising his phone.“Sia s
Sia didn’t have any idea of how long she had slept, all she knew was that she wasn’t pinched awake and Samantha was the one looming over her head when she was shaken awake. She looked around the classroom with confused eyes before checking the seat beside her and realising that Nate was not in his seat.“He didn’t come to school today?’ She asked Smanatha who shook her head.“He just walked out of the class a few minutes ago” Samantha replied and Sia raised her eyebrow rising to her feet. Ever since she and Nate became seatmates, he had never failed to pinch her awake during class.“Did you say anything to him?” Sia asked and Samantha furrowed her brows at her.“If I had the chance or the balls, I would have but I didn't say anything to him” Samantha replied and Sia nodded her head. She knew there were zero chances of Samantha saying something to Nate in the first place.“Let’s go and find something to eat; I’m starving” Sia announced, slipping one of her hands into her pockets and wa
