38. Batool

"I'm not talking to you, leave," Batool said sternly and Hamza smiled as he walked into his mother's room.

Without saying a word he walked to the side of the bed and crouched down on the floor. He didn't say anything else and simply placed his head on his mother's lap.

"Ami (mom) my head is paining," He said in a muffled voice and Batool's soft elder hands immediately touched his head as she started to massage his temple.

"Here? Did you take a painkiller?" She asked while massaging his head.

His smile broadened.

"Ami? (Mom)?" He whispered.

"G mere bachay? (Yes, my son)?" His mother asked.

"I'm kidding. My head is fine." He grinned moving back and Batool glared at him.

Grabbing his ear she twisted it. "Oww. Owww. Ami (mom)," He whined in pain like a kid as Batool scolded him for coming home late in the past few days.
