Twenty Nine -- Kunle
"This case is getting tougher than I expected. I thought it would be clearer with Johnson in custody. But, what do I do now? They helped him out. Something is fishy. Hannah, I'm getting confused." I explained adjusting my tie with force.
"You need to calm down. You know you can only think well when you are relaxed. I know I'm not a police like you but, as a lawyer I need to say this. This issue looks beyond what you think. How about you dig deeper. Look into the case with the heart of a criminal. You might be able to find your answers." She said softly, each words hitting me like ice to my face.
"Thanks a lot, love. Should I do this alone? Or inform Ewawummi?" I asked.
"That's right. I hope you don't get to close to her. I can't stand another lady being next to my man. I looked her up. She was really pretty." She said as I laughed.
"Wait what? You are feeling jealous?
Thirty -- IseoluwaI entered the room with a frown. I knew I over reacted with the cop. I wasn't just in the proper mood."Ish, what's up? What's getting you worked up?" Dave asked with a sly smile. He was busy with his system."Durotola has hired a new bodyguard. I heard that the person is really skillful." I muttered as I sat down."Seriously? That's why you are upset? Are you afraid or what?" Eric replied as I shrugged."Of course not. But, I wanted our meeting to be a surprise. It looks like he was aware of us already." I added as they nodded."But, how did he know? You haven't brought up the event that brought them together. Also when Mr. Badejo found out about it, that was his last day. He died the moment you left his room. So, how would he know that you are coming for him?" Eric asked as I sat up."That exactly is getting me worked up. I don't understan
Thirty One -- EwawummiI parked at the hospital's garage. I was dressed in black khaki trousers and boots with a deep blue top to match. I loved my look, it made me seem official. My braids were parked into a neat ponytail. I got down from the vehicle after giving myself a last check in the mirror. His office was described to me. It didn't take long to find it. I was a little nervous. It had been three days since boss told me. I had only less than three weeks to repay my debt. I really hoped I would do a good job."Come in." He replied as I entered before bowing. "Oh, Ewawummi right?" He asked as I smiled looking up."Hi Mr. Durotola, Ewawummi is reporting to duty." I said with a smile as he laughed."Have a seat. So, what do you know about this position you are about to take?" He asked as I nodded."I am here to be your second hand. I would protect you from any form of attack
Thirty two - Iseoluwa"I am telling you, she is his bodyguard! Why does she keeps appearing?" I shouted fisting the wall. I was in the restroom. I already made sure everyone left."Calm down Ish. We would sort it out." Eric muttered as I sighed. She was beginning to annoy me. How come it all revolved around her? Why she out of tough men as a bodyguard?"Hey, I'm gonna play that little detective. I really wouldn't mind deceiving her." I muttered as he hummed."Are you cool with it? She is innocent." He said as I shrugged."She might be a threat to us. I can't risk anything for this revenge. If I have to do anything, I will." I said carefully meaning every word."Alright then. Have you looked into that patient file? It must be in his office." Eric asked."No, I haven't. He just went out. I was really hoping he ta
Thirty Three -- Ewawummi"Why do you guys keep meeting?" Ini asked as I shrugged laughing. It wasn't like I understood what was happening."I really don't know guy. We seem to keep getting linked with each other." I replied."Hmmm. How is your boss? Just try your best to protect him. People around shouldn't get to close to your boss." He answered as I nodded. All what I wanted was the serenity of everything."Alright. How about your place? Any new case?" I asked as he laughed."Well yeah, I'm in charge of a very funny case. A lady reported a seven year old boy for harassing her. I don't even know what to do." He said as I laughed."Seriously, seven year old? Come on who reports a young child. What if he was joking? Does he even know what it means to harass someone?" I said with a smile."Exactly, that's the issue. This young boy knows what it means. He st
Thirty Four -- IseoluwaI walked into Eric's and David's room. I needed to see David. I smiled at his little networking of computers. He had various bugs to watch over. He barged in and ran straight to it before he realized that I was in."Oh Ish, you are here! Something happened. I received a beep that something is wrong somewhere." He said as he sat down taking a close look at all the footage. I ran to see what he was checking."Damn! They got him!" He exclaimed as I turned. Who?"What? Who?" I asked as be pointed to a particular footage. I could see Ewa and Kunle pursuing that wash man out. I clenched my fist."How could that happen? We made sure he would never be found. So, how.." I asked as he sighed."They tracked his phone. I clearly told that guy not to switch it on! Damn him!" He muttered as I fisted the table. Now, things are beginning to get though.
Thirty Five -- Ewawummi"Are you he didn't figure out that we trapped him?" Kunle asked as I shook my head."He isn't that smart. Imagine him asking a police for bribe. What insolence!" I said as we got there but we met another scene."What happened?" I asked as we parked."I think someone is injured." Kunle said as I ran down. I saw them carrying a body. I showed my ID and opened the face. My face literally went pale. They found him too!"What happened here?" I asked as they covered him up. He was shot in the restroom. Go inside for more details." They nodded as they continued with their work. Kunle was already at my side. We walked into the restaurant together. We were allowed to enter the restroom to view the scene."Damn! What happened here?" I passed my hands through the tail of my ponytail."The real criminal must have found out that he was about to tell
Thirty Six -- Iseoluwa "Wait what, you brought it?" He said with a laugh as I shrugged. I know he asked for a picture but I want that guy to see how much I can ruin him. He really should get prepared."Beside, I brought two other cases. I haven't gone through them actually." I replied as he smiled. He collected the three cases and placed them side by side on the bed. I just sat and watch whatever magic he wanted to perform. "I think you should go through the three and look for the toughest we could start with. I'll be in my room". I patted his back before leaving.I was stopped by Kunle on getting to my to door. "Hey, it's been long I saw you last." He said as I smiled. How come he doesn't know my name."Call me Ish, short for Ise." I said as he laughed."Ish?, really? I think I'll prefer calling you Ise. Well, I'm Kunle. It's funny that we have known each ot
Thirty Seven -- EwawummiI had a rough night plainly because I had to dig deep into eighteen years back. I had no time to waste, so I decided to treat a year in a day. My puffy eyes were beneath the glasses I wore. After arriving at the office, I went in to see boss."I am around Sir." I said as I turned to leave."Emm. Ewa, I apologize for the insults I hurled on you. The truth is I was very angry." He said as I smiled and walked closer to him."Something got stolen, right?" I whispered as he stared before nodding slowly. I knew it! It must be something secretive."Boss, I am here to help you. Tell me what you need to do." I said as I sat down. He smiled in response before moving closer."You want to know why I requested for a guard? Here it is. From an unknown source, I heard my past was going to be dug. The file they stole is an inkling to the truth in that information
