Chapter Forty One.
"So what are we going to do?" Mona asked after subduing Lily from mumbling curses under her breath. It was really unlike Lily to behave the way she'd been doing; first calling the devil a mad man, then the cursing? Lily wasn't always like that. "Oh, and if you're wondering what is wrong with her, she's high." She highlighted, like she was reading my mind that moment.
"I am not high." Lily drawled and even though I couldn't see her, since the whole room was dark, I imagined her staggering as she talked.
"Of course, you're drunk then." I heard Mona and Lily argue from afar but quickly interrupted their little argument. "I met her. Lilith."

We stopped on a three second break after hearing the sound of something heavy, hit the ground and creating a dull thump, then continued again as Mona assured me it was just Lily that fainted.

"Looks like we have company." Mona pointed out, even though we'd already gotten the hint. They were already here, and we still had absolutely no idea how we were supposed to escape for our dear lives."It issss almost time you preciousssss little girlssss." The voice behind the dark, hissed and stressed on each words that ended with an 's' like he was some sort of serpentine creature. "The masssster is almost done, and once he is done with you all, he will be done." He took in a weak breath so it sounded like he was about to collapsed. One second, he was rattling on like a bloody barbarian and then the next minute, he was yelling like a loosed mad man. "HE WILL BE DONE WITH YOU ALL!" His insane behavior sent a panic distraction that caused Mona and Lily's voice to tremble as they lowly begged for mercy under their breaths. "Exactly, how do we get out now Kerik?" Mona asked. "You said we had it under control." She continued, reminding me of the escape I'd promised them."Yes. Of course." I prepared to start explaining all the crazy plans that I'd thought up earlier, hoping I was right about the idea, until I became rudely interrupted by a loud but quick force on the gates and the next thing I knew, I was already outside the gates. Mona and Lily behind me."Whoa! What just happened?" Mona asked. I saw them again after so long. Both wearing a long black dresses like it was a funeral night, with green big beads round their necks. Lily rushed forward to me and squeezed her arms tight round me. "I've missed you." She whispered in my ears and it wasn't until then before I wrapped my hands around her to hug her. Just as if my instinct spoke, I found myself in the sight of him. Fortem wasn't with me, so I wondered how I could even still manage to magically transport myself. But all that didn't mattered. I was there with him already. I only hoped Mona and Lily made it safely. I figured he didn't know I was already behind him, because he seemed to be too busy with whatever mischievous he was doing and his back faced me, but as soon as I still continued with my doubting, his cold face turned to me and my heart stopped for a minute. "Hello again," and with that, I found myself fly through thin air with my back suddenly crashing into what later seemed to be a barrel, ripping it to pieces just as my whole body had been torn apart. My head hit something really hard and sent an excruciating, torturous pain to my whole body. "So, what do we do now?" I heard Mona's voice called from behind. What was left there to do? He was gone. Not dead, but gone. His powers had been stripped off of, but I knew it wasn't the end. The atmosphere that night emitted a strange kind of feeling that left you in the middle with the feeling of terror, excitement and sadness. It was so difficult to explain, but all I knew was that it wasn't a pleasant feeling. Darkness crept out as I peeped through out the window. Not quite the hot dark of embers, but a soft,hopeful dark. The dark that comes just before the sunrise, that kind that helps the orange and gold blossom across the sky, like a small flower trembling open in spring. Its strange essence encouraged me to fall asleep as I closed my eyes, tossing and turning in a futile attempt to slip away into the depths of unconsciousness, blissfully unaware. "So what news have you bring me? Tell me it's good." I queried Mona as we had tea over on the dining table. Ever since those mad keepers left the palace with their soldiers, they'd been bad news upon bad news. First, I realized I could now save the septic, though I wondered if I could have always cured them from the start or maybe I only could because of the devil's disappearance. Or maybe even because of the fact that I'd received Lilith's blessings, as of recent, we couldn't even tell whether the devil was permanently banished or dead, or was still somewhere hiding in the corners. But something told me he was till very much alive due to the fact that I still had vivid visions about another war with him. Then, I realized that we were already running low on supplies and the villagers would soon start staving. So many problem were arising in the fickle of time."Well, the Northern villagers refused to supply us grains.""What! We need those grains. R

"Not yet, your majesty." She scrutinized, as she plastered a half-smile at me. Maybe waiting to confirm whether I would flare up and finally either punch her right in the place that would hurt, or roar in anger and consume the souls of them all. I only returned a false smile to her as a reply. Not the obvious type that showed the tremendous effort in the making of the smile, but the kind that contoured the pretence in the smile. She wasn't supposed to see me getting upset because I wasn't upset with her at all. She wasn't supposed to feel a tiny percentage of my transferred rage."But, Kerik?" Mona called, and my heart nearly sank. She shot a piercing look at me and smiled with teary eyes. I almost bursted out into tears but quickly calmed myself and tried assuring my mind that it wasn't really my fault. I was fixing this. "You said you had a dream about how we could save Ragnila, and your sister as well. And Lavi. How... How do we save them exactly?"
