Chapter 8: Banquet

3 p.m, Bach family villa.

Vincent called someone to the house to help Azura do her makeup. He and his secretary discussed a little more about work.

Arrived more than 5 p.m.

Vincent and Azura went to Aurora's house.

Vincent was named as the son-in-law of the Meredith family, but his social status was very high, and Mr. Meredith came out to meet him.

Seeing her family, Azura's steps also slowed down. Vincent sat in the wheelchair next to her and gently took her hand.

"Don't be afraid. I'm by your side."

A smile from him made her feel secure, also dared to hold her head high.

Everyone looked at Vincent and Azura. Since the news of his accident spread, he has never appeared in public. BG Real Estate Company also did not announce any change of president, so Vincent is still the head of BG. People still have three parts of respect for him.

Vincent needed to talk to some partners, but he knew Azura wasn't used to wearing high heels. He led her to a seat near the pastry counter.

"You eat cake. I say hello to some partners. If anyone is causing trouble, call me."

Vincent saved his number on Azura's cell phone. She knew he had something to do, so she obediently waited for him.

She looked at his back. She was scared but still tried to reassure herself. Today is a big party anyway. Aurora and her mother probably won't make it difficult for Azura.

Azura took a piece of cake. It helped her feel better. Everyone looked at her, then whispered to each other, but no one came near her.

While everyone was talking and laughing happily, Aurora came down from upstairs. She wore a purple dress with sparkling beads on top. She was like a princess, making everyone have to look at her.

Azura looked at Vincent. She wanted to see if he was looking at Aurora. After all, Aurora was also the one who was betrothed to Vincent. If he weren't disabled, he would have married Aurora, not Azura.

Vincent looked at Aurora, but only one glance turned to look at Azura.

As soon as he looked, he saw Azura's bewildered eyes. This girl has suffered too much.

He smiled at her as reassurance. Aurora also noticed that Vincent wasn't looking at her but at Azura.

Aurora clenched her fists. Even though Vincent was the one she dumped, she didn't want to see him pay more attention to Azura than she did.

Azura has nothing compared to Aurora, but Vincent doesn't like Aurora. Before, Vincent never smiled at her, but now he seems to like Azura. How is this possible?

After greeting everyone, Aurora headed toward Azura.

As soon as he saw her, Azura quickly stood up, clutching the phone tightly.

"Sister, long time no see. You seem to be living a good life, right?"

"Yes, my life is fine."

Aurora covered her mouth and smiled lightly. She looked up and down at Azura once.

"If you're living a good life, why wear a necklace like cheap that? Doesn't Vincent have the money to buy you a brand-name necklace? No, he's the president of a real estate company. How can he not have money to buy jewelry for his wife? Or you are nominally his wife. But in reality, you are just a maid."

Several girls also approached Azura. She knew these people, and they were all friends of Aurora. When she went to school, they bullied her many times. She was a little scared of them, but Azura stood up straight and didn't turn around and run away. She was now Vincent's wife. She couldn't make him lose face.

"Since when did you know how to care about me? How do you know my relationship with Vincent when you are an outsider? If I say my relationship with him is not good. Will you marry him?”

"Never. Who wants to marry a disabled person?"

"You despise people. You don't want to marry. You made me take your place. Now you stand here scorning me. Is this the attitude of a noble lady of the Meredith family?"

Everyone was surprised at Azura's attitude. She had never dared to disobey Aurora before.

"Do you think like an honorable lady? You have the honor of replacing Aurora by marrying a rich man like Vincent, so you should be humble and grateful to her. You raise your voice to your sister. Will you be an honorable lady?"

A girl speaks for Aurora.

Everyone laughed scornfully at Azura. They say she's reliant on being married to Vincent to be sassy.

Azura looked around. She didn't see Vincent. Minutes ago, Meredith had invited Vincent into the room to talk. His company is a real estate company. The Meredith family specializes in interior decoration, still needing to rely on Vincent a lot. He had no idea Azura was in trouble.

Aurora grabbed Azura and pushed her into the middle of the crowded area.

"I present to you the youngest daughter of the Meredith family, Vincent's wife."

Seeing everyone whispering about her, Azura clenched her fists and bowed her head.

"I heard she replaced Aurora."

"Her beauty is normal. Isn't she Aurora's little sister?"

"I heard that the maid was promoted to the youngest daughter."

"Believe it's true sometimes."

Azura looked at her mother-in-law, but she also abandoned Azura because of the gossip.

Just as Azura was about to run away despite everything, she heard Vincent's voice.

"What going on here?"

She looked up at him. Did he, like the others, feel that she had humiliated him? Does he hate her because of her status?

Azura's voice mumbled: "Sorry Vincent, it's me..."

"Who said what to my wife?" Vincent asked.

No one spoke. Only Glavin had just arrived and heard a few sentences. He stood up and told Vincent.

"They asked if Azura is your wife or just your servant. Why does she go to the big party wearing such country jewelry? Is it because you don't have the money to buy it for her?"

This sentence was like hitting Vincent's honor directly. He smiled coldly at everyone.

"There are indeed no eyes to see. The necklace she wears is a John family heirloom. Only the owner's wife is eligible to wear it."

Vincent deliberately looks at his stepmother. This necklace belongs to his mother, and his stepmother is also not qualified to wear this necklace.
