Chapter 116

His arms were stretched above him, the room was dark until a haze of seven chairs glimmered in front of him but they were empty. A disembodied voice burnt his ears. “You are charged with murder of an Alpha. What say you?”

“I didn’t,” he replied immediately. “I haven’t killed anyone,” his voice sounded odd to his ears, it was his voice. He looked around but it was like his gaze couldn’t move from the seven chairs. 

Movement allowed him to turn to see a figure that had his blood running cold. “You did, son.”

“Da’?” he whispered, not really believing it. He looked pale, skeletal. Not the large, strong Alpha he’d been in his life.
