Chapter 15

Almost a week had gone by since everyone apologised, but she was still doing as much avoidance as before. Except for now her safety was the woods; in her wolf form. Having done two circuits of the woodland before the sun was at its highest she trotted to the river which ran through the wood. Tired; she laid down. Her fluffy head rested on her large paws, while her furry ears flicked to the sounds around. She could hear the fish in the river, birds tweeted their songs above. The nature that surrounded her put her in peace. The woods were becoming a firm favourite of places to be. There was something about being alone, just nature, insects, birds, mammals and trees to keep her company.

A snap of twigs forced her golden eyes open. She turned her head towards the sound and saw Kristen coming through the trees, twigs tangled in her brown hair. Alissa huffed and turned her head back to the river.

“I bought you a change of clothes, and a sandwich.” She placed them next to Alissa's wolf figu
