His question resounded in her thoughts and his icy stare kept her in place. The noise from the next table continued to grow but she was unbothered by them, only by the man who wore a smirk in front of her.

Anna glanced around the place. There were about six opened windows and three doors. One of the doors led to the staff room, the other was maybe the restroom while the last one was the exit.

She wouldn't be able to make it out in time.

"Ha!" the sudden crack of his laugh jerked her from her analysis. "I'm kidding!" Jamal laughed, slapping a hand on his thigh. "You should've seen the look on your face, An-"
