“Hey Rick.” Nicole nervously greeted as she picked the call.
“Nicole, why did it take you so long to pick up?” Rick questioned the moment he heard Nicole’s voice.
“I, um… I wasn’t close to my phone. Uh.. how are you doing?”
“Are you okay? You sound nervous.”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” Nicole replied, internally cursing herself for not being able to hide her nervousness.
“Vanessa and I are worried about you. You didn’t show up at work. We went to your apartment to check up on you, but your place was locked… where are you?”

Weeks had gone by since Nicole accepted Gabriel’s offer, but they had never gone out together as the 'supposed couple' which made Nicole feel sad. Gabriel had asked her to act as his fiancée for six months but she never felt like one even for a second. Nicole hurriedly went to look for the house administrator, she needed him to get a doctor to come check up on Gabriel. When she did that, she instructed the maids to make chicken soup for Gabriel.After about half an hour the doctor arrived. He did a check up on Gabriel and told Nicole that he was down with a fever.
