Chapter 23

Faith felt apprehensive as she sat in Casiuss' car. This was her first session with Devlin since that day at the club.

She'd spent the last few days regretting everything. She blamed it on the alcohol. If she'd been in her right senses, she never would have made those decisions.

She woke up the following day with a splitting headache, a hangover and distinct memories of the night. It was just her luck that she wouldn't get hangover amnesia. She could have used it.

To make matters worse, Devlin hadn't even reached out to her once in all that time. She would feel better if he'd berated her or something... anything.

The first time she heard from him was earlier that day when his text reminding her of the session and informing her that Casiuss would pick her up came in.

It was the same text she'd gotten from him in the past. There was no change in tone, length or even punctuation. She knew because she'd analyzed it for hours.
