Chapter 50

Faith ignored Devlin's persistent knocks at her door. She'd shed her clothes and crawled into bed the moment they got in.

He slammed the door so hard that it rattled. She sat up, wide-eyed. Would he kick the door down? It was his hotel anyway.

She waited for his next move. Seconds passed and she didn't hear anything else. Then the outer door slammed shut.

Good! He'd left. He could go to his lady friend's room for all she scared. She toyed with the idea of locking him out of his room as well but dismissed the thought. He would just get an extra key from the staff.

She fell back onto the bed and pulled the bedspread over her face. She groaned. To think that she'd been ready to forget everything after the day they'd had today but he just had to ruin it.

She supposed it wasn't fair to blame him for what the woman did but she was in no mood to be rational.
