Kylian's POV

“It’s okay. Kieran and I have always had a strange relationship. I’ll admit there is a bit of a long-standing feud between us. I don’t dislike him, it’s just that I don’t trust him,” I explained.

“Kylian, I know it’s a sensitive subject, but Kieran and I really were friends all those years ago. There was nothing between us. We were friends. We hung out and ate pizza and stuff like that,” she said in a soft voice.

I wanted to believe her. My life would be much easier if I did. “And now?” I asked.

She looked at me and smiled. “Nothing.” I nodded. “Okay.”

She breathed a sigh of relief. I felt the tension almost immediately diffuse in the room. We had addressed the elephant in the room and now we could move on to more exciting topics.

“So, tell me more about you. Do you like to go clubbing often?” I asked, not meaning to revisit the subject, but I wanted to know.
