Joanna had stopped at a restaurant that had a big bathroom on her way to the café where she was supposed to meet Selena. She changed into a pair of old shorts and a gray shirt. She put her hair up in a ponytail and washed her face free of make-up with a wash-cloth she had in her purse. The last thing Joanna needed was to stun Selena senseless by showing up looking the way Clarice looks.
