Chapter 171: Trouble

“What?” Margaux asked, confused.

Hendrix looked away and cleared his throat. His ears felt like burning but it instantly eased up upon seeing his parents gawking at him.

Suddenly, his anger towards them came back but he tried to ignore them and set aside his rage to give all his attention to Margaux instead. She was his first priority and he will come back to them after Margaux was done talking to him.

Slowly, he shifted his gaze back to her and looked straight into her eyes, “I will do everything that you say,” he said firmly.

He watched her reaction intently. His heart swelled when he saw a brief spark past her eyes.

“Are you sure about that?” she asked.

He immediately nodded in response and even smiled at her lip tight.

Although he didn’t know what changed and why she suddenly wanted him to stop filing a lawsuit against those horrible people, he would give in to her wants even though it was not really easy because it was about his pride and safety.

Margaux looked away a
