Twenty-four

Suddenly, her head began to spin making her put down the glass abruptly. Annabelle looked on in disappointment at the untouched drink.

“What's wrong?” she asked curiously noticing how beads of sweat instantly began to form on Angela’s forehead.

“I… I feel…dizzy” she managed to say as she jumped to her feet but the whole room seemed to be spinning and she landed back on her chair.

She placed her palm on her forehead and closed her eyes trying to control the dizziness but it wasn’t working.

“Can you…help me t—to the b—bathroom please?”

She managed to let out.

Annabelle was confused. Was the poison that strong that it was already showing effects without her tasting it? Was sniffing it just as potent as tasting it? Even if that were true, the effects shouldn't be that quick. She wondered. Seeing as Angela paled, she stood up and helped her to the bathroom as the rest of the patrons and waiters stared at them oddly.

Once Angela made it in, she went into one of the stalls and shut the door
