Chapter 9. Taken To The White House

Nancy met Charles' sharp, deep black eyes. With her chest rising and falling heavily, she really wanted to move away from him, but Charles held her close.

"I cannot let you go," he said, feeling as though he was beginning to lose himself because of her.

Nancy took some steps backward and Charles approached her again, still staring intently into her face. She was halted by the glass wall behind her and swiftly turned to move away, but Charles cut her off. He inhaled her sweet blossom scent, tempted to kiss her pink lips, as his black eyes wandered to them again.

"Why don't you want me?" Charles asked. Standing very close to Nancy, he waited for her response. However, she couldn’t respond. The words got stuck in her throat as she inhaled Charles's cologne. It penetrated and forced its way into her nostrils, causing her to splutter, "I . . . I . . ."
