The Wedding Preparation

Charles entered the elevator and didn't say a word to Nancy as he went downstairs to the ground floor. His mother rushed up to meet him as soon as he stepped out of the elevator.

"Charles, we need to cancel the marriage," his mother said to him as she wore a long blue native gown. As she is a traditional woman, she didn't want the young lady to ruin her only son's life.

"No, mom. I cannot let Nancy go," Charles replied, as he paused and met his mother's gaze.

"You have to, Charles, as I made a terrible mistake by choosing her photo. And there are still many other young ladies out there that truly want you. Just let her go, Charles."

"Okay, mom, I will, but after our wedding night," Charles smiled, and his mother stood speechless as she watched him walk out of the mansion.

Charles finally exited the mansion door, as he had an important business meeting to attend to, and if Nancy hadn't plotted to escape, he wouldn't have been at home either. He went into his car and left.
