Sixty two

Steph held Mia’s hands as the machine beeps echoed in the room. It had been about 2 days since Mia was brought into the emergency.

Steph stared at Mia’s face, how vulnerable she looked and she prayed silently that her friend gets well soon.

Steph wiped the tears that had unknowingly escaped her face. Mia was still unconscious and hasn’t even opened her eyes yet.

Oliver stood by the door as he watched Steph with Mia. He couldn’t help but feel like everything that was happened was his fault.

If only he hadn’t been so selfish and wanted Steph so badly, maybe all of that wouldn’t have happened.

He couldn’t bring himself to stay next to her. His conscience couldn’t allow it. The more he saw her, the more he wished he didn’t call Frank to tell him about Mia

Maybe if he had just allowed her leave that day and told Steph, all that wouldn’t have happened.

“Why are you standing by the door?” Steph asked, turning in Oliver’s direction.

Oliver was about to walk in when his phone started to ring.
