Chapter 29

Kelly stood in front of her house. She looked round the neighbourhood before walking into the compound. She stopped at the doorstep, hesitating a bit before knocking.

" Who's there?"She heard her mother say from inside but Kelly refused to respond.

"Hi mum", Kelly stammered when the door opened and she saw her mum. She looked at Kelly with disgust.

"What do you want?", She asked but Kelly was too intimidated to reply.

"Who's there" , Mr. Parker yelled from inside, he walked up to them and saw Kelly standing at the door. He looked at her in confusion and immediately switched his reaction.

"Hello my dear, welcome home", Mr. Parker said and walked past his wife who was standing at the doorway, frowning at him.

"It's been a very long time dear, how have you been?", He inquired.

Kelly looked at her father with a smile on her face. She was ushered into the house with courtesy.

'`How have you been my dear, how's your husband?", He asked, pouring her a glass of milk.

"Oh, I'm fine Dad
